Welcome New Mexico LACES Users!

LACES Online Help

If you only see this page after logging in, the LACES workspace cannot open due to your web browser security settings or pop-up blockers. To fix this, please do the following:

1. Web Browser Security Settings:

On the Internet Explorer menu,

  1. Select Tools-> Internet Options ...
  2. Choose Security tab
  3. Click on "Trusted sites" on the top section
  4. Click on "Sites..." button in the middle section.
  5. In the input box below text "Add this Web site to the zone:", enter https://laces.literacypro.com/NM/
  6. Click "Add" button.
  7. Click "OK" to close the window.
  8. Click "OK" to apply the changes.

2. Pop-up Blockers: Pop-up blockers can be stand-alone applications, or part of an application/tool such as Google Toolbar.

On the Internet Explorer menu,

  1. Select Tools-> Internet Options ...
  2. Choose Privacy tab
  3. Set Privacy to "Medium"
  4. Click the "Block pop-ups" checkbox in the bottom section
  5. Click the "Settings" button and set the security to Low. Since LACES is a secure site, this will allow only the pop-ups that LACES uses.
  6. Click "OK" to close the window.
  7. Click "OK" to apply the changes.

Reminder: Pop-up blockers can also come from Yahoo, Google or other Internet add-ons. If you notice problems opening windows, hold down the Ctrl key before clicking the button. If this works, then you have a pop-up blocker interfering with LACES.

For additional info on identifying and turning off the most common pop-up blockers:

Search your computer and turn off any that you find, and then try logging into LACES again.

3. Try https://laces.literacypro.com/NM/ again.

Internet Explorer v.7 with LACES:

Laces supports IE7, however, there are some items to be aware of:
  • You will need to redo any security settings that you have created for LACES such as allowing popup blockers for the LACES site.
  • IE 7 also has more aggressive pop-up blocking so you may need to turn off additional pop up blockers. To determine if this is the problem, hold down the CTRL key while clicking a button or link. If it works when holding down the CTRL key, then it is a pop up blocker problem. Check with your IT personnel on how to disable these for trusted sites. For additional information on how to find popup blockers from other sources see our short video: Getting started
  • IE 7 has multiple tabs. We recommend that you open IE7 and only use LACES without other sites open in the additional tabs.
  • Pay attention to any error/alert messages that come up in the status bar at the bottom of the browser window. Most errors will happen on the login page.
