Family records may be created to show the family roles of students already entered into LACES NexGen, and other members of their family who are not currently entered as students. The intent of the family record is to show the relationships of family members who are learning together. The family record is created for informational purposes only. To track assessments, attendance, and goal attainment, the person must be entered as a student. Students younger than 16 years of age do not count on NRS tables and should only be entered as students if your agency provides family literacy services.
After signing in to LACES NexGen, go to More on the area menu and select Family from the list. The default family view is Family List. All family records display on the grid.
Family records on the grid may be filtered by using grid row filtering. This allows you to perform searches on specific columns without creating a search. For more information about adding and applying searches, go to Search.
The Shared Family view displays at the top left of the family grid on the view options dropdown list. Family List is the only shared view, which displays columns on the grid that provide at-a-glance information about the family record. You may create your own custom views. For more information about views in general, or creating new views, go to View Manager.
